Senior Project Manager
Location: Suffolk
Salary - Up to £90,000 + Package

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Project Manager to join our clients team. Candidates should have a background in Civil Engineering.

Role Overview

The Senior Project Manager will oversee high-value, fast-paced, or complex delivery programs. This role typically involves managing increased delivery workstreams and enhancing customer reporting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure, ensuring that timelines and budgets are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities


  • Programme Management:


    • Understand and manage the project program effectively.
    • Facilitate short-term planning and communicate the program to the team.
    • Administer and approve the contract program (e.g., Cl31, Cl32, CE programs & Cl14).
    • Ensure adequate resourcing of staff, operatives, and supply chain for the program.


  • Contract Administration:


    • Ensure the project contract documents are understood and administered correctly.
    • Ensure the project team complies with relevant safe systems of work, and actively manage third-party liaison and interfaces.


  • Safety Initiatives:


    • Support and promote the Galldris Behavioural Safety program and hazard observation reporting initiatives.


  • Quality Management:


    • Ensure quality management aligns with the Quality Management Plan, including ITPs, Check Sheets/WIS, and NCRs.
    • Establish and maintain document control procedures and electronic platforms.


  • Project Controls:


    • Develop project controls for both internal and external reporting, adhering to KPIs.


  • Design Management:


    • Manage designers and consultants, including input into contracts and timely delivery of design programs.
    • Actively manage risks and opportunities.


  • Cost and Value Management:


    • Oversee cost and value management, update resource planning monthly, and track changes and additional value.


  • Reporting:


    • Prepare monthly project progress reports and lead presentations for customers.
    • Conduct monthly project reviews and CVRs for the Galldris Senior Management Team.


  • Business Development:


    • Support the work-winning team and bid managers, acting as a pre-construction lead/bid manager when necessary.


  • Leadership:


    • Exhibit positive leadership behaviors, maintaining professional credibility and integrity with customers.
    • Perform additional duties as required.


  • Compliance:


    • Adhere to company policies and procedures.


Experience and Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of construction techniques and productivity.
  • Proven track record in operational delivery within construction, with experience on large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with temporary works.
  • Experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and coach team members.
  • Experience presenting detailed reports to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Relevant formal qualifications are essential (HNC, HND, Degree).
  • CSCS certification.
  • CITB 5-Day Safety Supervisor qualification.

Skills

  • Proficient in IT.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with clients and internal staff, and work independently.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
