Role: Senior Project Manager (HV Substation Projects)

Location: Scotland

Turner Lovell are recruiting for an established M&E contractor, operating across Europe on various HV energy infrastructure & datacentre projects, in both the design and construction phases.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager who will take ownership of a large portfolio of HV Substations_ Design & Build type of projects across Scotland.

As Senior Project Manager you will be expected to plan, manage, and safely deliver site activities and to support the project team deliver the construction works.

About the role:

Spearhead implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality management systems across projects
Drive strategic oversight of project deliverables, ensuring optimal performance in time, cost, and quality metrics while maintaining rigorous safety standards
Provide visionary leadership to cross-functional teams spanning design, site operations, and commissioning across a diverse project portfolio
Leverage advanced communication skills to cultivate and manage high-level relationships with internal and external partners/clients
Serve as a key organizational ambassador in high-stakes interactions with internal and external stakeholders
Contribute strategic insights and domain expertise to bid development processes, enhancing the organization's competitive position
Establish and cascade critical objectives to project team leads (Procurement, Engineering, Construction, etc.), implementing robust monitoring systems to ensure alignment with overarching project goals
Direct comprehensive project cost control strategies, optimizing resource allocation and financial performance
Oversee the development and implementation of sophisticated method statements and risk assessments, ensuring best-in-class operational practices
Champion safety culture through executive participation in weekly safety walks and site safety meetings, proactively identifying potential hazards and showcasing industry-leading practices
Demonstrate fiscal acumen in managing complex budgets and programs, consistently delivering projects within financial and temporal constraints
Cultivate an organizational culture characterized by transparency, open communication, and continuous improvement, fostering innovation and excellence across teams
Required Executive Experience:

Extensive strategic leadership in managing complex Substation projects up to 400kV
Advanced certification in Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
Exceptional executive communication skills and proven ability to orchestrate large-scale organizational initiatives
Demonstrated track record of innovative problem-solving and driving continuous improvement at the enterprise level
Superior interpersonal acumen, with a history of building and maintaining high-level stakeholder relationships
Full driving license, enabling mobility for critical site visits and key meetings
Profound expertise in overseeing and optimizing multi-million dollar budgets
Mastery in strategic resource allocation and operational efficiency optimization
Visionary leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
Demonstrated success in driving robust financial performance within challenging contracting environments
Comprehensive understanding and implementation of cutting-edge safety and quality management systems
Advanced project management credentials such as APM, PRINCE2, or PMI are highly desirable
