Pulse are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver complex projects across our global client base. This role places a strong emphasis on project controls, including forecasting, budgeting, resource management, and manhour tracking. The Senior Project Manager will drive project success, ensure alignment with client requirements, and maintain commercial and technical excellence.

Duties/Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery:
- Lead the full project lifecycle, from initiation to close-out, ensuring timely delivery to the required quality and budget standards.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and milestones to align with client requirements and organizational objectives.
- Identify critical path activities and implement strategies to ensure project timelines are met.
- Monitor project schedules, addressing slippages and delays with proactive solutions to maintain project momentum.
Project Controls:
- Own and manage project forecasting, budgeting, and cost control processes.
- Accurately track and manage manhours, resource allocation, and project spend against forecasts.
- Identify variances, risks, and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies to control project performance.
- Ensure transparency through robust reporting of project KPIs and financial health.
Resource Management:
- Work with functional teams to optimize resource utilization, balancing workload across projects and minimizing inefficiencies.
- Forecast staffing needs and liaise with internal teams to resolve resource gaps.
- Manage technical resource allocation, ensuring engineering teams are aligned with project phases and deliverables.
- Coordinate specialized technical inputs, such as detailed design reviews, system installation support, and testing phases.
Risk Management:
- Proactively identify, analyze, and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and execute mitigation and contingency plans.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Provide regular, clear communication on project status, risks, and issues.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment of project goals, addressing any challenges promptly and diplomatically.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and technical teams to ensure seamless project delivery, aligning technical deliverables with client expectations.
- Work with stakeholders to resolve project constraints, ensuring that engineering inputs and solutions are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain project performance dashboards, reporting progress against scope, schedule, and cost.
- Lead monthly project reviews, ensuring accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and project control adherence.
Contract Management:
- Review, negotiate, and manage project contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Manage contract variations, claims, and change orders in collaboration with commercial teams.
- Monitor contract deliverables and milestones, ensuring client and company obligations are met.
- Maintain accurate documentation of contractual agreements and correspondence.
Procurement Management:
- Oversee procurement processes for equipment, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services within budget constraints.
- Monitor vendor performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Develop procurement strategies to mitigate risks, manage costs, and optimize value across project phases.
Project Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and resources.
- Utilize scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project) to monitor timelines, resource allocation, and milestones.
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure dependencies and critical path activities are effectively managed.
- Regularly analyze schedule variances, providing updates and adjustments to stakeholders as required.
QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment):
- Ensure all project activities comply with QHSE standards and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and quality throughout project delivery.
- Conduct regular QHSE reviews to identify risks and implement corrective actions as required.
- Collaborate with internal QHSE teams to monitor compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, environmental management, and quality performance across all projects.
Leadership & Mentoring:
- Provide guidance and leadership to project team members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Support project managers and coordinators with project control techniques and best practices.
Compliance with ISO Standards:
- Ensure projects comply with relevant ISO standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety).
- Drive adherence to quality management systems and promote continuous improvement initiatives in line with ISO requirements.
- Support audits and provide project documentation to meet ISO compliance standards.
Requirements
Key Skills & Experience:
- Education: Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years' experience managing complex technical projects, with a focus on project controls (forecasting, budgeting, and manhours tracking).Proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budget in industries such as energy, infrastructure, marine, or offshore monitoring sectorsExperience managing projects involving structural health monitoring systems, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and real-time data analysis.Familiarity with engineering solutions for offshore structures, pipelines, risers, and marine assetsExperience coordinating technical project phases, including design reviews, system installations, and testing. Demonstrated expertise in project scheduling, utilizing tools like Primavera or MS Project to manage and maintain project timelines.
- Project Management Certification:** PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and financial reporting systems.
- Analytical Skills: Strong capability to interpret and analyze financial data, project performance metrics, and KPIs.
- ISO Standards Knowledge: Working experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 frameworks.
