Senior QA Technician – Food Industry
 






Recruiting on behalf of a business in Cheshire who are on the search for a Senior QA to join them. While they are small, they are mighty in what they do. Every single person in the business matters and there's very much a feeling of team spirit. 

This role is ideal for someone with strong QA experience in the food industry, looking to take the next step in their career. You could be a QA looking for a little more responsibility but not quite ready for people management, or a QA Supervisor who wants to continue operating at the more senior level but wanting to step away from people. 

You will need to be familiar with working to BRC standards, have the abilty to take the lead with decisions and stand in when the Technical Manager is out of the office. 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System in line with BRC and other food safety standards.
  • Conduct routine HACCP verifications and assist with updating HACCP documentation.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring all non-conformities are effectively addressed.
  • Assist in the investigation of quality incidents, including customer complaints, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Carry out product sampling, testing, and sensory evaluations as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of QA activities and findings.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure quality standards are upheld.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members on quality procedures.

Qualifications and Experience Required:


  • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role within the food industry (essential).
  • Good knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP principles, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with production teams and external auditors.
