Let us introduce the role
AWE is currently recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer for the Assembly Tech Centre
This role is ideally suited to a professional in quality, who has experience in evaluating manufacturing and operational processes, leading initiatives to improve efficiency and compliance, and has demonstrable evidence in previous roles of bridging the gap between engineering, production, and customer by driving a culture of continuous improvement.
This shift based role will be responsible for collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and engineering, to ensure quality requirements are integrated at every stage of the product lifecycle. The right candidate will be able to leverage their technical expertise to evaluate materials, processes, and final products, requirements and customer expectations.
In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Quality Engineer will often take on a leadership role, mentoring junior engineers and quality personnel. They act as quality ambassadors, providing training on best practices, statistical quality control methods, and problem-solving tools. Through effective communication and analytical skills, they should be able to influence decision-making and ensure that the organisation delivers products and services that align with its vision for excellence.
Ultimately, the Senior Quality Engineer is a vital driver of AWE's success, ensuring both the integrity of products and the satisfaction of stakeholders. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented, and innovative mindset, combined with the ability to lead and inspire teams toward achieving exceptional quality standards.
