Job Summary:



The Quantity Surveyor (Social Housing) will manage costs for residential construction projects with a focus on social housing. The role involves minimizing costs, ensuring value for money, and maintaining required standards and quality within budget constraints.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Cost Estimation and Planning:




    • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets.

    • Conduct feasibility studies for materials, time, and labor costs.




  • Tendering and Procurement:




    • Prepare and analyze tender documents and contracts.

    • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.




  • Contract Administration:




    • Manage construction contracts, ensuring compliance.

    • Handle contract variations, claims, and payments.




  • Cost Control and Reporting:




    • Monitor and control project costs.

    • Prepare cost reports and financial statements.




  • Risk Management:




    • Identify and mitigate project risks.

    • Develop risk management strategies.




  • Collaboration and Communication:




    • Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers.

    • Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.




  • Compliance and Standards:




    • Ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety standards.

    • Stay updated on industry standards and regulations.







  • Experience:




    • Experience in residential construction and social housing.

    • Proficiency in cost estimation and contract administration.




  • Skills:




    • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

    • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX).
