Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Preston
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established Regional Contractor who have been operating for over 60 years, specialising in a variety of sectors including the commercial, healthcare, education, heritage, residential and leisure, with projects ranging in value from �1m - �15m.
Due to their continued success and growth they are now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Preston.
The role - Senior Quantity Surveyor
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be a key part of the team and will be working closely with the Commercial Manager & Directors to deliver both new build and refurbishment contracts across Lancashire and Greater Manchester and will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Effective commercial control of all subcontract packages, including provision of timely and accurate documentation.
  • Administration of subcontractor accounts.
  • Ensuring procurement of subcontractors and suppliers are undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensuring that payments and notices are issued in accordance with the subcontract & construction act in particular.
  • Ensure that all commercial risks during the project are identified and reported to the Managing Director.
  • Attending project meetings (Design, Pre-order, Internal reporting, Contract progress) and ensure that information and cost advice is provided monthly in an accurate and proficient manner.
  • Managing a team of Quantity surveyors.
  • Mentoring Trainee Quantity Surveyors.

Required skills/knowledge?

  • Have a degree/equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • Main contracting experience is required
  • Be able to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management.
  • Be contractually aware, with a good knowledge of subcontract orders and buying principles.
