Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil engineering and managing large infrastructure projects. Proficiency with the NEC contract suite is essential. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in overseeing project costs, managing change control, and ensuring successful delivery within budget and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
Monitor and control project expenditure against the budget.
Conduct regular financial reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
Contract Management:
Administer contracts using NEC forms, ensuring compliance and managing risks.
Assess and negotiate contract variations, claims, and change requests.
Ensure all contractual documentation is accurately prepared and maintained.
Change Control:
Lead the change management process, including evaluation and implementation of change requests.
Maintain a change control log and ensure changes are documented and approved.
Team Leadership:
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion.
Stakeholder Management:
Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders.
Attend project meetings and represent the commercial team as required.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive risk management strategies.
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate measures.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
Prepare and present detailed reports on project performance, risks, and financials.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Chartered status (MRICS/MCIOB) is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on civil engineering and large infrastructure projects.
Proven experience working with NEC contracts.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using industry-standard software and tools.
