Senior Quantity Surveyor- Hampshire�

Our client, an established Main Contractor, is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Manager to deliver high-end residential projects in Hampshire. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing all quantity surveying functions throughout the project lifecycle involving managing project costs, contracts, procurement, and change control processes to ensure optimal financial outcomes. You will work closely with a highly experienced team to complete large scale projects of high value and complexity, from contemporary new builds to refurbishments up to �30m in value.�



Key Responsibilities & Requirements:� � � �





  • Develop a comprehensive project budget based on project scope, specifications, and contractual requirements.�







  • Lead cost planning and management of projects, including estimating, budgeting, and cost control measures.�







  • Provide accurate and informed reporting on the project's cost performance.�







  • Manage the preparation and evaluation of subcontract packages, contributing to interim and final valuations.�







  • Review and analyse contracts and identify key terms, conditions and obligations related to cost management.�







  • Collaborate with Contracts Manager and Site Managers ensure that all variations are recorded on CVIs and copied to all interested parties.��







  • Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including contract conditions, bills of quantities, and subcontractor packages.�







  • Prepare regular cost reports, providing project managers and stakeholders with insights into cost performance.�







  • Update the line manager as soon as any individual budget is exceeded or likely to be exceeded.��







  • Ensure that valuations and final accounts for each contract are presented to suit the requirements of the individual PQS/architect/client, to speed up the certification process.��







  • Implement effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and identify potential issues and present reliable solutions.�







  • Participate in project meetings, providing expertise and insights on cost management issues and strategies.�







  • Lead and mentor the QS and Trainee QS, fostering collaborative and supportive team environment.�







  • Oversee subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management ensuring all subcontract/supplier orders placed are within budget.�







  • Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or related field.�







  • Notable experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction.�







  • Proven experience in Main Contractor projects, ideally in private residential building contracting.��







  • Good understanding of property taxation matters and contractual law.��







  • Knowledgeable in traditional building methods and products associated with the refurbishment of listed buildings and up-market period houses.��







  • Proficiency in Quantity Surveying software and tools.��







  • Excellent negotiation, problem solving and communication skills.�
