Job descriptionOur client, a leader in the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful financial completion of projects, protecting the company from financial risks, and adhering to commercial procedures. As a senior quantity surveyor, you will manage a section of a large project or several smaller projects.Key Responsibilities:Coordinating with, reporting to, and implementing the directives of the Regional Director/Manager and the Commercial ManagerEnsuring timely submission of all data needed to monitor and analyse contract performanceLiaising with Contracts Managers for daily commercial administration of contractsPreparing or approving accurate draft sub-contractsSupervising, mentoring, and encouraging junior staffConsulting with contracts management to ensure necessary notices and submissions are given promptlyEnsuring main contract payment applications contain all necessary claims and achieve timely submission of detailed claims and final accountsAssisting Contracts Managers in managing sub-contractor performance to ensure economic and timely completionEnsuring regular submission of main contract payment applications and timely cash collectionInvolvement in dispute avoidance and resolutionResponsible for managing meetingsLine management responsibility for the commercial team membersJob Requirements:Strong understanding of the construction industry and its partiesProficient in measurement and valuationGood knowledge of standard forms of contractAbility to read drawings, specifications, and understand the construction processCapability to negotiate with clients and sub-contractors and draft sub-contractsKnowledge of CISAbility to produce accurate monthly cost and value reportsTeamwork skillsAwareness of dispute proceduresExperience in risk assessments and valuation with project team membersExtensive experience in working on live projects and final accountsExperience in value engineering and resolving disputesSuccessful completion of several final accountsExperience in procuring major works sub-contractsProfessional membership of recognised institute (e.g. RICS) is desirableProficient in Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience of managing, mentoring, and developing staffExperience in health, education, mixed-use, and commercial projects is highly desirableBenefits:Interesting and challenging projectsProfessional development and training opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative work environmentComprehensive employee benefits packageIf you are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a new opportunity to further develop your career, we would love to hear from you.
