Senior Quantity Surveyor

Abatec is working with one of the biggest and busiest contractors in the South West for the recruitment of a freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS). Our client, an award-winning contractor is seeking an SQS to join their commercial team to work on various rail frameworks across the South West with the option for hybrid working.

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar position having worked on civil engineering & infrastructure projects.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will:

• Manage all costs in relation to infrastructure projects with experience of identifying commercial risks and opportunities in respect of their works.


• Provide support to senior members of team in delivering varied commercial duties including responsibility for procuring and managing supply chain.


• Optimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities, whilst achieving the required standards and quality for our customers.


• Assist with commercial relationships to both internal and external stakeholders.


• Provide support and adherence for the Gated Business Lifecycle process.


• Use the company's ERP System and BMS systems.

Our client requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor with:

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying (or similar)


• Experience of working for a tier-one Civil Engineering contractor.


• Experience of infrastructure projects


• Excellent communication skills.


• A good knowledge of NEC form of contracts.

Salary and benefits include:

• �425 - �475
