Senior Safety Case Engineer

We have an exciting new opportunity for a SENIOR SAFETY CASE ENGINEER who can be based at our clients offices either in Warrington, Cheshire, or West Cumbria.
About the Project:
Leading and shaping the delivery of fit for purpose and proportionate integrated nuclear safety cases and underpinning nuclear safety assessments, advice and formal documentation, to quality, schedule and cost.
About the Role:
Hands-on personal delivery of nuclear safety cases and assessments may also be required as part of the role.
Ensuring that the nuclear safety cases and underpinning assessment advice and documentation provided achieves the expectations of the SL nuclear Safety Case Process arrangements.
Collaborating with all disciplines in the identification and development of appropriate nuclear hazard management strategies as part of both design development and the development of operational requirements.
Leading hazard identification studies on both design projects and operational facilities.
Proactively identifying and sharing LFE within and external to Safety Cases, as well as seeking out and implementing potential improvement opportunities and associated LFE from other areas.
Developing effective engagement relationships with the key stakeholders including:
Other specialist assessment teams within Safety Cases, Safety Case Owner/Manager, Project Managers, Engineering Managers and Responsible Engineers, Design and System Engineers, Operations Teams.
Leading the delivery and providing day to day direction of a team of supporting nuclear safety assessment resource and supporting the effective management and engagement of the resource.
Leading the provision of support to stakeholder engagements with Regulatory bodies on nuclear safety case issues.
Undertaking appropriate verification of both integrated nuclear safety cases and nuclear safety assessments and supporting documentation in line with Safety Case Process arrangements.
Supporting Sellafield Ltd.s Assurance arrangements, for example Single and Multi-Disciplinary Design Reviews, Project Design and Technical Committees.
Knowledge:
Detailed knowledge of safety case process and methodologies.
Knowledge and experience of lead
Essential Experience:
Ability to proportionately and effectively apply safety case processes, methodologies and tools.
Ability to influence and lead the day to day delivery of nuclear safety professionals in the delivery of integrated nuclear safety cases and underpinning assessments.
Ability to build relationships and engage collaboratively and effectively with key internal stakeholders (technical, engineering, operations etc.) and external stakeholders (ONR).
Ability to solve complex, multi-dimensional problems.
Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
Excellent report writing, written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive in seeking out improvement opportunities.
Essential Qualifications:
Degree within relevant discipline
