Senior Security & Distribution Operative

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Security & Distribution Operative on a permanent basis, to be located in Workington.
The Senior Operative will be required to coach the S&DC Operatives and Assistants, always promoting best operational practices. The post holder will be responsible for daily forklift truck operations including maintaining operational control over plant and equipment. They will also be responsible for supporting the Focal Points and Operations Lead in driving continuous improvement across the team. The successful candidate will be competent in carrying out security and logistics related tasks including the screening of personnel and materials using metal detection and x-ray screening equipment to comply with nuclear standards and requirements. In addition, they will be required to operate site forklifts in a safe and proficient manner, supporting the team where required. The role will require the candidate to operate both at a 'hands on' level and deputise for the Focal Point as required, upholding Focal Point responsibilities during this period.
To be considered for this position, candidates should have 3 years' experience within a similar role supervising forklift truck activities. RTITB Supervisory Forklift Course, IOSH 4-day Managing Safely Certificate and 3.5T RTITB Forklift License / experience of cargo handling is essential as is Manual Handling Training, Fire Safety Training, Dangerous Goods Awareness Training and Vehicle Banksman Training. A formal qualification in a supervisory capacity is desirable. The candidate will be required to attend and pass job specific SL courses.
