Senior Service Engineer

A leading company in the renewable energy sector is currently seeking a Service Engineer to provide specialist support to their site service division. The successful Service Engineer candidate will be field-based and must hold a full driving license.

As a Heat Pump Service Engineer, you will have hands-on responsibility to provide specialist on-site knowledge to service and repair Ground Source & Air Source Heat Pumps. The ideal Service Engineer will be passionate about renewable energy technologies.

Key responsibilities for the Service Engineer include:

• Servicing, fault finding, and repairing Industrial, Commercial & Domestic Ground Source Heat Pumps


• Carrying out service and maintenance works associated with commercial systems


• Understanding, completing, and submitting all work-related paperwork clearly and on time


• Overcoming on-site issues using experience and knowledge


• Carrying out work in a safe and diligent manner


• Complying with all Health & Safety policies and procedures


• Participating in regular training and development reviews


• Participating in an OOH rota – paid on call and for call outs

Required Skills and Qualifications for the Service Engineer role:

• Knowledge of Commercial/Industrial Ground Source & Air Source Heat Pumps (Desirable)


• Experience in fault finding on heating systems


• NVQ/C&G qualifications or equivalent in Plumbing & Heating


• FGAS certification (Advantageous)


• Previous experience installing, servicing, OR commissioning heating systems


• Multi-skilled engineer with recognized mechanical and/or electrical qualification


• Basic understanding of PLC control systems


• Understanding of heating systems and associated pumps, valves, and safety requirements


• Electrical fault finding to board / component level (Advantageous)


• Mechanical fault finding and repair skills


• Good customer service skills and communication


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
