Senior Site Manager

Kier Construction have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Site Manager to join our North East team, aligned with a large, new build healthcare project in Sunderland 

Location: Newcastle, Sunderland 

Contract: Full Time, Permanent 

What will you be responsible for?

As Senior Site Manager you will take a key  role in delivering external elements  including roofing, plant rooms and external cladding  packages on a flagship healthcare project,  ensuring the safe delivery of construction works in line with Kier quality standards. 

Your day to day will include but not be limited to:

• Manage and direct sub contractor partners to deliver a large section of externals works


• Check work carried out by sub-contractors to assess delivery in line with programme, design drawings and quality standards.


• Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements from sub contractors to ensure working methods outlined are safe and appropriate.


• Carry out toolbox talks and site inductions to ensure full compliance with Kier standards.


• Co-ordinate site logistics, movement of plant & labour too, from and around site ensuring safety is maintained in doing so.


• Report any issues or programme slippages to the site / project manager.


• Create, log and file site reports and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.


• With the guidance of the wider project team (P.M, Designer, Engineer etc)  find solutions to any challenges.

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Site Manager is great for you in you can demonstrate:

• Relevant construction qualification HND/ Degree, trades accreditation or equivalent 


• Prior experience in delivering large build projects within the main contracting environment 


• Sound technical knowledge of external work packages. 


• Track record of ensuring the highest standards or safety, quality and compliance. 


• Holding SMSTS 5 Day Cert, CSCS Card and First Aid cert
