The position:
Salter Grange are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to take a leading role in the fit-out stage of a £23 million cut and carve commercial development in the London Borough of Southwark for a main contractor. This is a critical position for a skilled professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and has a passion for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
As the Senior Site Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day on-site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring the smooth delivery of the fit-out phase, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all on-site activities during the fit-out stage, ensuring progress aligns with the project programme
\n
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are completed to specification and schedule
\n
• Enforce rigorous quality control measures to ensure all finishes meet the project’s high standards
\n
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety on site
\n
• Address and resolve site challenges promptly to keep the project on track
\n
• Represent the company on-site, maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the wider project team
\n
• Provide regular updates to the Project Manager, including progress, risks, and any required adjustments to the programme
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Significant experience in site management roles, particularly on high-value cut and carve or fit-out projects, ideally in the commercial sector.
\n
• Strong understanding of fit-out processes and structural alterations
\n
• Proven ability to lead site teams and subcontractors effectively, maintaining productivity and morale
\n
• A meticulous eye for quality and the ability to ensure high-spec finishes
\n
• SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold Card), and First Aid certifications are essential. A relevant trade or construction management background is desirable.
