Senior Site Reliability Engineer Needed

Fully remote (London once a month) - 6 months

�675 a day inside IR35

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, particularly in Markets, Asset Management, or Transaction Services. You will play a key role in ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency across our systems, working closely with development, operations, and business teams to enhance service performance and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure to support business-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enhance system observability, monitoring, and performance.
  • Drive DevOps best practices, including automation of deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and governance processes.
  • Work closely with business and operations teams to implement new ways of working aligned with Agile methodologies.
  • Ensure system reliability through incident response, capacity planning, and fault tolerance strategies.
  • Support Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including tooling, governance, and automation approaches.

Required Experience & Skills:

  1. Financial Services Expertise - Experience in Markets, Asset Management, or Transaction Services, with knowledge of major business platforms.
  2. Agile SDLC - Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including tooling, concepts, and hands-on experience working in Agile environments.
  3. DevOps & Automation - Deep knowledge of DevOps principles, tools, and governance automation in the SDLC.
  4. Business & Operational Collaboration - Experience working with business or operations teams to implement Agile ways of working, or prior experience as a Business Product Owner in an Agile setup.
  5. Technical Expertise - Proficiency in:
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
    • CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD)
    • Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
    • Scripting and automation (Python, Go, Bash)
    • Incident response and system resilience
