Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)Azure Platform ModernisationLocation: London - Hybrid Working 1-2 days in office About Us: We are a leading insurance company committed to innovation and excellence. We are looking for a seasoned Senior SRE to lead our efforts in modernizing our Azure platform.Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior SRE with a strong infrastructure background and expertise in Azure, Terraform, and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the modernization of our Azure platform, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and performance. This role will also involve mentoring junior team members and stepping into a leadership position within the team.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a modern, scalable, and reliable Azure infrastructure.Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to manage Azure resources.Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters to support application deployments and orchestration.Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and continuous integration.Monitor system performance, reliability, and availability, and implement improvements as needed.Mentor and guide junior SREs and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and troubleshooting clusters.Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and system management.Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.Key Competencies:Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor team members.
