Role Accountability

The appointed candidate will be responsible for the detailed architecture, design, coding, testing, maintenance, and improvement of innovative software solutions. You will employ automated tools to create high-performing, accessible, and user-friendly designs while ensuring they are cost-effective and error-free. Your role will involve understanding user needs, simplifying solutions, and accurately estimating efforts.

Participate in evaluations and reviews of programming methods, tools, and standards, and champion IT policies to guarantee the security of information and systems. Engage in our community of practice to uphold standards and best practices. Embrace Agile methodology, fostering a dynamic environment that prioritises iterative methods and rapid delivery.

Contribute to the development and application of design standards, methods, and tools, ensuring all work is documented. Maintain specific procedures and security controls to protect business information systems. Identify, assess, and manage risks, coordinating actions to mitigate or eliminate them.

Enjoy the added responsibility of being a lead officer, supporting to motivate, and inspire your team, facilitating open dialogue about expectations, progress, performance, and development needs. This role has the additional benefit of providing out-of-hours support, on a rotational basis, with additional payment.

The Experience You Will Bring

As an experienced Senior Software Engineer, it is essential to have a degree or equivalent work-related attainment as well as experience with 'Microsoft Dynamics 365' development, Power Platform and Logic Apps development.

Additional skills and attributes required for this role include:

  • Programming/ Software Development: Takes technical responsibility across all stages of software development, planning and driving construction activities, adopting appropriate methods, and ensuring adherence to standards and security.

  • Systems & Software: Lifecycle Engineering: Collaborates on lifecycle management, supports deployment, provides feedback and guidance for improvement, and identifies new domains for practice application.

  • Solution Architecture: Leads the development of solution architectures, prepares technical plans, provides guidance on solution development, and ensures adherence to relevant strategies and policies.

  • Systems Integration & Build: Plans and drives systems integration and build activities, manages the adoption of integration tools and processes, leads integration work, and contributes to policy development.

  • Information Security: Provides guidance on security controls, performs risk and impact analysis, identifies risks from technical architectures, and designs mitigating solutions.
