Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Location: Warton – Full time on site role Salary : £47,683 – 52,426 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Completing allocated requirements, design and implementation, and testing tasks to a high standard, within scheduling and estimates Software development of solutions Testing of completed functionality Adhering to project processes and software development practices Accurately reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership Supporting System Test and Integration Activities Producing appropriate technical documentation Participating in peer reviews of own and others’ work products Configurating completed work ready for testing Design of technical solutions Your skills and experiences: Essential: Degree in a relevant STEM subject – Computing/Software Engineering/Systems Engineering/Aerospace/Avionics/Electrical-Electronic Engineering/Engineering Excellent Software Engineering skills, with a solid foundation in one of C/C++/C#/Ada Practical experience of developing embedded software Use of configuration tools such as Serena Dimensions or similar configuration tool experience Desirable: Avionics/Mission systems domain knowledge Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confidence in presenting information to a wide variety of stakeholders General Military aircraft domain knowledge and interest Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The Senior Software Engineering Team: This is a very exciting time to join our team in Warton as a Senior Software Engineer. You will be working on world beating aircraft products, creating cutting edge software for our hardware systems and be involved in the entire lifecycle of a product, from design and development to integration. Working closely with systems and test engineers, you will enable the development of complex real-world systems that have to perform perfectly every time, as they will be used in real world combat. An exciting opportunity exists within the Eurofighter Typhoon software development team producing and maintaining new displays for the Typhoon cockpit. Why BAE Systems?
