Join us and help Take Us There. The RoleAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will work within a cross-functional scrum team of developers, product managers, and quality assurance analysts to design and implement new features and products including sophisticated algorithmic trading solutions. You will learn the fixed-income market allowing you to fully understand the “big picture” of not only what you are developing, but why and how it benefits our customers. At the same time, you will learn and apply new technologies and trading strategies that are being introduced to the market by MarketAxess. As an experienced technologist, you will be empowered by having a voice within your scrum team as well as within MarketAxess as a whole.How You’ll Help Take Us ThereDesign and enhance the Leading Global Fixed Income e-trading platform for institutional investorsImplement sophisticated algorithmic trading strategies for the fixed income marketsRecommend technology and frameworks for flexibility, long-term viability and time to marketBe a key technology leader on a scrum team comprised of skilled technology professionals with the goal to revolutionize the corporate bond marketsInnovate and transform business ideas into highly utilized features and services for our customersShare expertise across industry standard technologies including: Java, AWS, Kafka, Oracle, React, Redis Spring Boot, Docker and othersImplement, maintain, investigate and support products/initiatives from infancy to maturityArchitect, develop and design APIs in a microservices and/or event-driven architectureWhat We’re Looking For10+ years of enterprise software development using Java5+ years of experience implementing features using the FIX trading protocolStrong knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and multi-threading programmingFamiliarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka/Redis etc.Experience with microservices using Spring/Spring Boot (or, ideally, hands-on experience migrating a monolithic application to microservices)Experience or knowledge of AWS, deployment process, cloud-based technologiesExperience in capital markets, particularly with trading applicationsGood database skillsProficiency in UI technologies, such as React.js, is an advantage.What You Can Expect from Us Central Location: based at our city offices near St Paul's.  Free Food: We provide lunch each day of the week when the employee attends the office via our vendor Feedr as well as breakfast cereals, office snacks and drinks from our free vending machines Paid Time Off: 25 days annual leave entitlement plus 2 charity daysReward for your service: We offer a two-week bonus holiday after completing each 5 years of service Core benefits: Besides competitive standard benefits package we offer private medical (PMI) for family, Cash Plan, health screenings, dental cover, 6X life assurance, critical illness cover, income protection, pension, car leasing (Tusker electronic cars), reimbursement for wellness stipend, interest free season ticket loan and a “Share Incentive” planTuition Assistance and Professional Training: Benefit from on-demand learning, boot camps, and opportunities to attend conferences For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 105,000 GBP to 130,000 GBP. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
