The Commercial Banking division has a rich heritage of supporting businesses and the economic prosperity of the nation, primarily focused on UK businesses and those with strong links to the UK. We provide client customers with the support they need to help them grow, manage risk and enhance efficiency.
You'll work in the Gem Lab within the Cash Management & Payments Platform. Formed in 2021, the core purpose of the Gem Lab is to deliver significant income growth and transform our client customer proposition.
Cash Management & Payments (CM&P) new platform within the Gem Lab to improve client customer experiences for years to come. The objective is to put the Commercial Bank at the heart of the digitisation agenda for some of our largest corporate clients.
What you’ll do
We're looking to recruit a Lead Solution Architect to drive the development and maintenance of reliable, scalable and functionally rich software solutions for our clients and colleagues alike.
As we build our own solutions by integrating third party vendor applications and inhouse smart builds; we need solution architects with a specific set of skills and experiences in a digital development environment.
You’ll be instrumental to the strategy to simplify, modernise and de-risk the Gem platform technology landscape, enabling the Bank of the Future and ultimately driving value for customers and shareholders.
Contribute to setting the strategic direction for application development within the Lab.
Ensure solutions are designed and built in a way that is consistent with the core LBG architectural frameworks, patterns and practices that exist across the wider engineering community.
Be aware of industry innovation, and gain exposure to the knowledge required to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist.
Work closely with business and enterprise design colleagues to ensure alignment with the group’s wider architectural strategy.
Providing direction for our Lab engineers, blending domain knowledge and deep technical expertise, and coaching cross-disciplinary feature teams to deliver high quality maintainable software.
You'll also know and understand how to keep our customers safe, through a strong working knowledge of software and infrastructure security controls.
What you’ll need
You'll have experience of designing solutions for demanding stakeholders, demonstrating diligence, insight and willingness to challenge.
Proven experience on IT Solutions within Banking/Financial Services; preferable Core Banking, Payments or banking channels
Strong experience in technologies namely SAP HANA, Banking Services, Payment Engine, ABAP, Basis/NetWeaver, Java Spring Boot
Proficiency in producing High Level, Low level designs, Solution options
Strong understanding of building applications through containerised microservices-based architectures, with a working-to-strong understanding of cloud methodologies.
Strong knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices and concerns.
Have played an active part in architecture and design governance, working experience of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or equivalent.
Working experience in Enterprise application Integration involving complex integration including 3rd party solutions, experience in Enterprise application Integration
