A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SENIOR SOUS CHEF at The Ramada By Wyndham Hotel Belfast
What you'll be doing...
Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
Cooking and preparing high quality dishes using various techniques
Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
Supervising all kitchen stations and providing guidance to junior level staff
Working with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
Being responsible for health and safety in the kitchen and food hygiene practices
Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
Maintaining good working relationships with colleagues to create a positive working environment
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in the role of Sous Chef, you will need the following qualities and skills.
Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards - advantageous
Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award - advantageous
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role Chefs de Partie welcome!
Strong communicator with friendly and pleasant personality
Excellent people skills with the ability to engage with staff
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, but also to use initiative and to work autonomously, as required
Ability to cover all work lines, as needed
Creative use of ingredients and recipe design
Competent level of English spoken and written
