Senior Structural Engineer
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Bangor, North Wales. In this role, you will lead and manage a variety of projects, including domestic alterations, extensions, and bespoke commercial structural engineering developments. From initial concept through to project completion, you will ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
This role offers flexibility to work entirely from our scenic office located in parkland near the Menai Strait or in a hybrid arrangement combining home and office work.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform structural design calculations for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry following British Standards and Euro Codes
Ensure compliance with internal design checking protocols and quality management systems
Coordinate with professionals and contractors to manage project timelines and deliverables
Work independently on smaller projects or as part of a team on larger schemes
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Supervise trial hole investigations and undertake visual structural inspections
Mentor Junior Engineers
Liaise with clients and design team members to meet project briefs, attending meetings as required
Engage in business development activities and contribute to fee proposals and tender submissions
Assist in project management to ensure commercial delivery and meet deadlines

Role Requirements:
Solid knowledge of relevant British Standards and Design Codes
Ability to produce designs based on strong engineering principles
Proficient in design software such as Tekla, CADS, and Tedds
Proficiency in AutoCAD is an advantage
Full driving license and access to a car for business use

Qualifications:
Preferred:
Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar engineering consultancy
Working towards or near achieving membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., Chartered Member of ICE or IStructE)
