Senior Support Worker/Deputy Manager
Location: Carlisle, Greystone Road (with potential for some remote work)
Employment Type: Temporary (potential for permanent position), 3-5 days per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM (flexible hours)
Job Overview: Aspire Care Cumbria is seeking a dedicated and proactive Senior Support Worker/Deputy Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside the management team, ensuring that all necessary tasks are completed efficiently and uphold the high standards of care we are known for. This role involves maintaining policies, conducting staff supervisions, ensuring safety protocols, and overseeing the development of direct work packages for the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the management team to ensure timely completion of all necessary tasks.
Maintain and update policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect the ethos of Aspire Care Cumbria, including the Statement of Purpose, Equality and Diversity, and Positive Behaviour Management Plan.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations, including conducting weekly fire checks.
Maintain a high standard in our home environment.
Conduct staff supervisions and appraisals, providing support to maintain professional practice and ensure the safety and welfare of all staff.
Manage the training matrix, identify training gaps, and ensure staff complete/maintain necessary training. Assist in delivering training if required.
Conduct quality assurance on staff recording and reporting, including completing weekly audits.
Disseminate new or updated information to the team effectively and ensure their understanding.
Develop the direct work package offered to the young people in our care.
Complete shifts if required in emergency situations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Understanding of trauma, therapeutic parenting/PACE, and the issues faced by our young people.
Experience in managing or supervising staff.
Experience working with young people who struggle with emotional or complex behaviors.
NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
Excellent communication and listening skills, with an approachable demeanor for both children and adults.
Willingness to learn and work well as part of a small team.
Successful candidates must undertake an enhanced DBS check (paid for by us) and sign up to the online Update Service.
Full, clean UK driving license.
