Make a Real Difference in a New Solo Home for a Child with EBD.
Our client is excited to be opening a brand-new, solo residential home in Wigan, dedicated to providing exceptional support to a child with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). We are seeking compassionate and experienced Senior Support Workers (Team Leaders) to join our dedicated team and play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.
About the Role:
As a Senior Support Worker (Team Leader), you will be a key member of our team, providing leadership and guidance to ensure the highest quality of care and support. You will work closely with the child, implementing personalised care plans and promoting positive outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a supportive and enriching home from the ground up.
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing direct care and support to a child with EBD in a solo residential setting.
  • Implementing and monitoring individual care plans, ensuring they meet the child's needs.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor to junior support staff.
  • Leading shifts and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Building positive relationships with the child, their family, and other professionals.
  • Managing challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Driving the child to appointments, activities, and other engagements.
  • Participating in regular team meetings and training sessions.
  • Completing sleep-in duties as required.


What We're Looking For:

  • Experienced and Qualified:
    • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a residential setting with children and young people, OR
    • A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or Children and Young People's Workforce.
  • Drivers: A full, valid UK driving license is essential.
  • Passionate and Empathetic: A genuine desire to support children with EBD and make a positive impact on their lives.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: The ability to lead, motivate, and mentor others.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals.
  • Resilient and Adaptable: The ability to manage challenging situations and work effectively under pressure.
  • Team Player: The ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
