Role purpose: This is a key role in a high-profile setting, ensuring that large and complex IT programmes are well managed and controlled, making efficient use of resources and maximising delivery of business benefits The role in summary:Accountable for the development and maintenance of the Technical Programmes delivery, communicating across the Senior Leadership Team to ensure efficient use of resources and maximising delivery of business benefitsWork with IT Heads to ensure that all programmes/projects are secure and can be operated, managed and supported in a cost-effective manner and deliver desired outcomes, (timescales, costs, quality and enabling benefits)Efficient budget management of assigned programmesEffective risks and issues management as well as document production.Supervise Programme Management and Project Staff, providing leadership and direction. Mentoring Technical Programme Managers. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:Essential:SME in ICT Programme Management with experience of managing complex, high-risk programmes, with budget management of £3m+Able to evidence experience of working at Senior ICT Programme Management in similar complex ICT projects environment using a recognised approach such as PRINCE 2. Able to demonstrate proficiency in all of the following areas:Budgets managementProgramme Management principlesResource allocationProject Risk managementBroad ICT understanding across IT Architecture, Networks, Cloud Technologies and Infrastructures etc.PRINCE 2 Practitioner, MSP qualified or equivalentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven man management skills in a matrix structureExperience in delivering services that are cost-effectiveAbility to travel to sites across wide geographical region in the South West as required. Full UK driving license essential. ** You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have lived and worked in the UK for the last 5 years in order to meet the security vetting required for this role **
