Job Title:Senior Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic Location: Belfast Company: McCabe Autos Employment type:Full time About Us: McCabe Autos is a family-run used car retailer located on the Rosetta Road in Belfast which has been established for over 35 years. Dedicated to delivering exceptional quality and customer satisfaction our workshop is required to prepare vehicles for sale and to maintain whilst in warranty. We also have a large customer base from the surrounding area which provides us with a variety of different work on a wide range of vehicles from basic servicing to fault finding and repair. We are currently seeking a Senior Vehicle Technician/mechanic to join our dynamic team. Job Description: As a Senior Vehicle Technician/mechanic, you will play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. You will be responsible for providing high-quality service while mentoring junior technicians and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of our workshop and enhance the overall customer experience. Key Responsibilities: Conduct routine maintenance services, MOT preparation, and inspections. Perform thorough diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operation of the workshop Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on complex repairs and best practices. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry standards and company policies. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed. Collaborate with the service advisor to provide customers with clear explanations of repair needs and costs. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automotive technology. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years experience as a vehicle technician, MOT preparation/servicing with a focus on advanced diagnostics and repairs. Experience in leading and managing a busy workshop A minimum of Level 3 NVQ or equivalent Motor Vehicle City & Guilds Qualification. Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
