The Security Group is part of a group of companies including The Cabling Group, The Audio Visual Group, The Data Centre Group, and The Workplace Technology Group.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid role for a Service and Commissioning Engineer - Security Systems. The Engineer will be responsible for overseeing system installations, performing comprehensive testing, diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, conducting scheduled maintenance, and responding to emergency service calls. International works, whether remote or on site will comprise part of the schedule.Working hoursThe job will be based on a 35-hour week, with the working day running between 0900 and 1700. However, a flexible approach is encouraged to working hours.Scope• Work in compliance with the company’s Health and Safety standards and requirements; with the safety of self and others in mind at all time.• Work in line with and enforce the standard operating procedure of the company.• Perform all work to company, client and industry standards, to provide the best possible service to clients and meet governing body requirements.• Maintain confidentiality and be sensitive to client’s security requirements.• Present and always promote a professional image of the Company. Maintain strong links with premium clients in order to secure repeat business and new sales through recommendation.Tasks• Handle system commissioning duties and client handover, addressing advanced technical difficulties and software issues to resolve faults and queries. This includes identifying, re-programming, and replacing equipment as required, both domestically and internationally. • Assist in quality control by monitoring the performance of installed systems, providing technical guidance to installation engineers, and promptly addressing any issues with colleagues and clients.• Planned annual maintenance including reactive response. • Attend emergency service calls as part of a call out rota. • Provide technical support to contractors, clients, and colleagues remotely via phone, email, or other electronic means.• Provide technical expertise to the design of security projects, including proposals and specifications.• Co-ordinating with the clients IT, Security, Health & Safety, HR and Purchasing Departments, to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.• Prompt completion of timesheets and any associated paperwork for the accurate processing of payroll.• Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.Personal Specification• Attention to detail and takes pride in work.• Accountable for own actions and takes ownership.• Flexible approach and able to respond positively to change. • Works effectively under pressure.• Receptive to constructive feedback to ensure continual improvement.• Behaves in accordance with The Security Group Core Values.• Collaborates effectively within a team environment.• Good communicator and able to transcend multiple cultures.• Leads by good example and seeks to influence others.Qualifications & Experience·
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the security industry or similar.·
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on enterprise access control and video surveillance systems. LenelS2, Tyco, Acre, Milestone preferred.·
Strong networking skills, including knowledge of network configuration, protocols, and troubleshooting.·
Basic SQL skills for database management and queries.·
A valid driving licence and passport.·
The job may involve a degree of manual handling.·
Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards, method statements and risk assessments.·
Understanding of NSI Standards
