Service Engineer

Location: Peterfield Road, Kingstown Ind Estate, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA3 0EY

Salary: �31,600 + call out / overtime usually available

Hours: 40 hours per week (1-hour unpaid lunch)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Service Engineer for our depot in Carlisle. This role involves servicing and repairing our equipment both in the depot and at customers' sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Service plant equipment, especially pumps, within the depot.
  • Carry out major repairs on equipment.
  • Refurbish end-of-life equipment to restore it to as-new condition.
  • Assist with loading/unloading pumps and generators using Hi-Ab Lorry Mounted Crane and Forklift Truck.
  • Ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained to a high standard.
  • Report any major problems to the Foreman/Depot Supervisor.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures within the workshop.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, and safety directives, including PPE and accident reporting.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • NVQ, Guilds, or Apprenticeship in Mechanics or similar.
  • 2-3 years of experience in mechanical jobs (must be able to work independently).
  • Experience with plant equipment, pumps, generators, or similar.
    Considered: Mechanical Fitters, HGV Mechanics, Car Mechanics, etc.
  • Command of diesel engines.
  • UK driving license.
  • Valid work permit.
