Stores Supervisor

If you are a hands-on, detail-oriented stores person who can use Precision tools, has exceptional attention to detail and an ability to oversee one additional team member, this would be a great opportunity to play a key role within a local manufacturing company. Taking ownership of the Service Warehouse operation, you will oversee all elements of the day to day running of the Stores including the assembly and repair of overhead hoist systems and associated products.

You'll work closely with both the production and service teams to ensure hoists and related equipment are built and maintained to exacting standards. This is a key role in maintaining the flow of high-quality products and services to clients.

Some key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Oversee and manage daily operations within the Service Warehouse
  • \n
  • Monitor production requests and ensure timely action
  • \n
  • Assemble overhead hoists and associated products to detailed drawings and work instructions
  • \n
  • Handle in-house repairs, refurbishment tasks, and demonstration stock maintenance
  • \n
  • Ensure accurate picking, packing, and timely dispatch of installation orders
  • \n
  • Supervise warehouse staff, ensuring full training, productivity, and teamwork
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean, organised warehouse with excellent stock accuracy
  • \n
  • Liaise with the Service Office to ensure smooth handling of returns and maintenance
  • \n

Skills and Experience required:

    \n
  • Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a similar role in a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • \n
  • Must be able to read technical drawings and follow detailed assembly instructions
  • \n
  • Skilled in the use of precision tools and committed to quality workmanship
  • \n
  • Computer literate, with the ability to manage stock and workflow systems (experience with IFS or similar ERP is a plus)
  • \n
  • Knowledge of health & safety protocols and PPE compliance
  • \n
  • Strong leadership skills - able to lead, train and motivate a team effectively
  • \n
  • Eye for process improvement and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • \n

Based in Ledbury, our client is offering a basic salary of £25k - £30k (depending on experience) and 39 hours per week Monday - Friday
