Company Overview:



The Clients Major Projects and Connections division is seeking a SHEQ Advisor to support our Major Projects and Connections team. They deliver a range of services including renewable energy, facilities management, and independent connections for Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). This role is based in London's Docklands and will contribute to a major regeneration initiative.



About the Role:



The SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures across major projects. You will provide professional SHEQ support to project teams, clients, and contractors, ensuring compliance and helping to create a culture of safety excellence.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company systems and processes

  • Monitor work areas for SHEQ compliance and report findings to senior management

  • Implement and improve systems to promote a positive safety culture

  • Provide SHEQ advice to project teams and clients, assisting in the development of safety initiatives

  • Lead accident and incident investigations and ensure follow-up actions are completed

  • Coordinate with the Group SHEQ team to ensure consistency across the business



Ideal Candidate:




  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

  • Experience in delivering sites that exceed CDM requirements

  • Knowledge of HSG47/Underground Utility Avoidance

  • Experience in the construction or utilities sector

  • Strongly desirable: NEBOSH Construction / Diploma or NVQ Level 5, IOSH or similar membership, Environmental qualifications (e.g., IEMA)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong client relationships

  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to SHEQ management



Requirements:




  • Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate, practical experience in CDM, understanding of utility avoidance

  • Desirable: Experience in electrical utilities, NEBOSH Construction/Diploma, IOSH membership

  • Strong experience in managing health, safety, environmental, and quality standards in construction or utilities projects
