Location: The head office based in Hillington, Glasgow, G52 4PR - There will be a requirement to travel to various site locations
Salary: Up to £45,000, DOE + Company Van & further benefits
Contract: Full time, Permanent.
Hours: 40 Hours (8am - 5pm)

SHEQ Lead - About the Role:
In this role you will actively ensure high standards of SHEQ are attained & continually improved to ensure all HSE legal obligations are met. Engage staff and managers to maximise improvements in safety performance. You will be responsible for driving the philosophy of safety ownership and quality throughout all levels of the organisation.
You will review, monitor and execute the SHEQ Plans objectives and targets, and provide positive leadership and promote the adoption of best practice. You will be responsible for promoting and monitoring the SHEQ culture and implementation of any relevant SHEQ statutory or legislative changes.
In this role you will carry out the following tasks:
Health & Safety Inspections / Audits
Conduct health and safety audits, risk assessments and workplace inspections recommending remedial actions where necessary.
Ensure any actions arising from audits, risk assessments or inspections are closed out.
Manage and coordinate IQA Safety Committees / STARS meetings for the region.
Quality
Review, implement the Company Procedures, Processes and Policies to suit business needs.
Assist in completing the internal audit plan and conducting quality audits as defined by internal plan and recommending remedial actions as necessary.
Ensure any actions arising from quality audits and inspections are closed out.
Compliance with Legislation
Advise on the interpretation and implementation of the Company Policies and Procedures.
Proactively review new legislative updates and advise line management of the need to integrate into the safety management system.
Act as delegate for Head of SHEQ in liaison with all accreditation bodies as required.
Employee Welfare
Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture within the company.
Ensure employees work in safe conditions and that exposure to hazards is reduced to as low as is reasonably practicable.
Ensure there are facilities and arrangements in place for employee welfare at work.
Ensure arrangements are in place for safe use of equipment and substances.
Investigate all accidents and incidents, identify root cause and recommend appropriate remedial actions where required.
Training
Develop and deliver training sessions relating to Quality, Environment, Health and Safety
SHEQ Lead - Candidate Requirements:
NEBOSH General Certificate or Equivalent
NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or Equivalent or IEMA Associate Certificate
Ability to work across sites, keeping connectivity and relationships building at all times
Able to work independently and be highly organised.
Strong work ethic, able to work of own initiative and ability to be proactive
UK Driving licence
There is a requirement to visit other branches and for this role there is a requirement to support our Newcastle office as such the candidate, must be willing to commit to travelling and working away from the main office location.
