Shift Engineer – Continental Shift – Commercial Building – Canary Wharf, London –  £53,000 Per annum
My client is looking for an Electrical or Mechanical Shift Engineer to be based in a commercial building in Canary Wharf, London. A successful candidate will be electrically or mechanically biased (C&G / NVQ). Working with the maintenance team on site, He or she will be required to carry out electrical, and mechanical maintenance. In return, the company offers a competitive salary of £53,000, further training and career progression.

Hours of work
Continental Shift - 4 nights, 4off, 3 days, 3 nights, 6off, 4 days - 07:00am - 19:00pm / 19:00am - 07:00am
Key Duties & Responsibilities
    \n
  • Lighting (Small installation, Fault-finding, Lamping, Changing ballast's, Control panel, Power distribution)
  • \n
  • Emergency lighting
  • \n
  • Air Conditioning - Air Handling Units / Fan Coil Unit (Filter changes, cleaning)
  • \n
  • Chillers - Re-set
  • \n
  • Water Treatment (Temperature checks / Not dosing)
  • \n
  • Monitor mechanical plant
  • \n
  • Plumbing - Unblocking toilets
  • \n
  • Pumps, motors
  • \n
  • Water Treatment
  • \n
  • BMS System - Monitor (i.e. Hot & Colds)
  • \n
  • Undertake all allocated tasks and perform them in a timely and professional manner.
  • \n
  • Be proactive in identifying and reporting faults with building services equipment and take steps to resolve them.
  • \n
  • Be proactive to ensure all H&S issues are reported/escalated as required.
  • \n
    \n
  • Maintain informal communications with Client staff members related to service levels and issues.
  • \n
  • Report service affecting issued to the site management team for formal communication with the client.
  • \n
  • Remain flexible with regard to site attendance and tasks undertaken within personal competency.
  • \n
  • Be fully aware of relevant Health and Safety and general legislative matters.

Requirements
    \n
  • Electrically qualified level 3 or Mechanically qualified level 2(C&G, NVQ etc)
  • \n
  • 18th edition (If electrically qualified)
  • \n
  • Experience working in a large commercial building
  • \n
  • You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates (Essential)
  • \n
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • \n
  • Multi-skilled
  • \n
  • Good communication skills
  • \n
  • Excellent customer skills
  • \n
  • Must be able to get to the site for 07:00 am start
