Shipping Co-Ordinator

Peterborough – Hybrid (3 days on site / 2 days WFH) – on site full time for first 2 weeks for training

Initial 12 Month Contract – likely to extend for the right person!

37 hours a week: Mon – Fri 08:00-16:00 Fri 08:00-15:30 – some flexibility re start/finish times

Up to £16.60 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £22.30

We are looking for a Shipping Co-Ordinator to join our Fortune 100 client’s Global Supply Chain team in Peterborough on an initial 12 month contract, which is likely to extend for the right person! Our client’s a world leader in engines and construction & mining equipment - creating innovative, cutting-edge products and services that help build the world around us. They lead sustainable green initiatives to preserve the environment, help reduce poverty and stay involved in the communities they help build. This work is key to their business, you will be a key player in planning, arranging and processing shipments to their global customer base.

What will the Shipping Co-Ordinator do?


  • Arrange for shipments of products to be dispatched to customers based on available product
  • Working with carriers and customers to agree collection schedules
  • Send all relevant documentation for the shipments to the necessary contacts
  • Prepare, submit and record the export entry for goods sent overseas

What skills and experience will the Shipping Co-Ordinator need?


  • Export experience or transportation/booking background desirable, Customer Service roles also have transferable skills
  • Accuracy & Attention to Detail – process detailed information with excellent accuracy
  • Excellent Customer service – solving customer problems internally and externally
  • A proactive and organised mindset, confident to work from own initiative but can also collaborate as a team
  • Able to communicate confidently and clearly with various teams/customers.
  • Desirable: Experience of UK Import/Export would be very beneficial
