Shunter Driver

Our client is a successful manufacturer based in Newark (NG23), they are looking for a 2 x Shunter Drivers join their small team in the busy Yard. They are looking for reliable team players with excellent attendance records. This role will be permanent after 3 months probation (during this time you will be paid via our agency as a temp).

PLEASE ONLY APPLY FOR THIS ROLE IF:

•    You have a Shunter License / Class C Driving License (essential) to ensure trailers are moved safely (HGV license is desirable)

•    You drive and have your own transport (there is no public transport to the location)

•    You have experience of using a Forklift Truck (having an in-date licence will be an advantage, but not essential)

•    You can start ASAP.

•    You are happy to work with rendered down animal products.

Shift Pattern:

•    4 on 4 off shift pattern, days and nights, 12 hours per shift (6am - 6pm / 6pm-6am).

Salary:

•    Hourly rate £14.75 per hour (£18.43 for any extra shifts worked)

Responsibilities:

•    Unloading/tipping of bulk trailers & tankers using the appropriate equipment, ensuring loading procedures are adhered to.

•    Cleaning inside of trailers once emptied using a pressure washer to remove any remaining product, adhering to industry cleanliness and hygiene standards. 

•    Maintain equipment like pressure washers, ensuring they are in good working order, reporting any defects to the appropriate team. 

•    Movement of full & empty curtain sider trailers within the yard or facility using the appropriate vehicles and equipment. 

•    Ensure all trailers are parked in designated areas and organised for ease of access whilst being aware of the surrounding environment. 

•    Keeping work area clean, ensuring that debris, waste and other hazards are promptly cleared or reported. 

This role would suit someone that has a Shunter License / HGV License / Heavy Goods Vehicle driving license, e.g. HVG Driver / PSV Driver / Coach Driver / Bus Driver / Truck Driver / Heavy Plant Driver / Lorry Driver / Yard Operative / FLT Operative / Fork Lift Truck Operator / other large vehicle driving job.
