Principal Responsibilities
Shunting Trains: Moving trains between different tracks to ensure they are in the correct position for loading, unloading, or maintenance.
Coupling and Uncoupling: Connecting and disconnecting train carriages.
Operating Signals: Using hand signals and fixed signals to communicate with other railway staff.
Safety Checks: Conducting inspections to ensure trains are safe and ready for service.
Communication: Coordinating with drivers, signallers, and other railway personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Drive trains, observing all applicable speed restrictions.
