Site Engineer - Highways

Job Title: Site Engineer (Major Highways Project)
Location: Northampton
Rate: �400 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: 6 months

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with Structures experience to join a major highways project near Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with a strong background in structural works to play a key role in the successful delivery of a high-profile infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage structural works on site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Assist in setting out and surveying works related to bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other highway structures.
• Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget, maintaining high-quality standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure efficient project progression.
• Conduct quality control checks and ensure adherence to health & safety regulations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate site documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and progress reports.
• Liaise with the design and project management teams to resolve any structural issues or technical queries.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer, specifically within major highways and structures.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, highways standards, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in setting out techniques and surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, total station).
• CSCS card (essential).
• Relevant degree or qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification (desirable).
