Site Manager
to lead the successful delivery of civil engineering and construction projects across Southern Scotland.

About the Role
As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for daily operations on a variety of civil engineering and groundworks projects. You'll ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard, while keeping your site team supported and engaged.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating all site activity, subcontractors, and site labour
Managing site health & safety, including inductions, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate daily records
Ensuring all work meets quality standards and technical specifications
Managing materials, plant deliveries, and general logistics
Addressing site issues and driving performance on the ground
Acting as the point of contact for clients, consultants, and inspectors
Supporting and mentoring junior staff and team members
Who Were Looking For
Were seeking an experienced construction or civil engineering professional with strong leadership and site management skills. The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure, organised, and solutions-focused, with a proactive and team-centred approach.
Youll ideally bring:
Proven experience as a Site Manager in civil engineering and/or general construction
A practical, hands-on leadership style
Strong understanding of technical drawings, specs, and on-site health & safety
Confidence in communicating with clients, teams, and senior management
A methodical and reliable approach to project delivery
Essential Requirements:
SMSTS (or SSSTS with intent to complete SMSTS)
Valid CSCS card
Full UK driving licence
Experience delivering groundworks or construction projects
Willingness to work away from home if required (Monday to Friday)
Desirable (but not essential):
First Aid at Work
CAT & Genny, Temporary Works, or Streetworks certification
Plant tickets (e.g. excavator, dumper, roller)
