About the Role:
We are seeking a Site Manager with a strong engineering background to join our team on an exciting�project in Manchester. As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing critical aspects of the project, with a focus on groundworks, setting out, and drainage. The Site Manager will be in charge of managing daily on-site operations, ensuring smooth progress and adherence to safety and quality standards. In this role, the Site Manager will coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to deliver the project on time and within scope. The Site Manager will also be responsible for liaising with clients and reporting to senior management on project milestones and any potential challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Management: Oversee daily site operations, ensuring the smooth progression of groundwork, setting out, and drainage tasks.
- Groundworks & Drainage: Take responsibility for managing groundworks and drainage activities, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards and in line with project specifications.
- Setting Out: Accurately establish site levels, boundaries, and layouts, ensuring precise setting out of all work to guide the construction team.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce and maintain strict health and safety regulations, ensuring that all work adheres to industry standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise on-site teams and subcontractors, coordinating resources to ensure timely and quality delivery of the project.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all groundworks, drainage, and setting out tasks meet the required quality standards and project specifications.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, including progress, issues, and potential risks.
- Client Liaison: Act as a point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of site management experience, with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks, setting out, and drainage.
- Education: A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certificates are in date.
- Skills: Proficiency in setting out and the use of relevant instruments, such as total stations and GPS, along with a solid understanding of construction drawings.
- Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of groundwork, drainage systems, and setting out processes.
