Key responsibilities of a Site Manager Civil Cable Route:





  • Project planning and execution:



    Develop detailed site plans, manage work schedules, and coordinate with subcontractors involved in civil works like excavation, trenching, duct installation, and backfilling.




  • Site supervision:



    Monitor daily operations on the cable route, ensuring compliance with construction methods, permits, and environmental regulations.




  • Quality control:



    Inspect civil works to verify quality standards are met, including proper trench depth, duct alignment, and backfill compaction.




  • Safety management:



    Implement and enforce strict safety protocols on site, conducting regular safety briefings and addressing potential hazards related to excavation, trenching, and traffic management.




  • Stakeholder communication:



    Maintain open communication with project managers, clients, landowners, local authorities, and subcontractors to address any concerns and coordinate activities.




  • Technical expertise:



    Have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles related to trenching, duct installation, HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) techniques, and restoration works.�





Required skills and qualifications:





  • Civil engineering background:



    Degree or relevant experience in civil engineering.�




  • Construction management experience:



    Proven track record managing civil construction projects, ideally with experience in underground cable installations.�




  • Safety certifications:



    Possess relevant safety qualifications like SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).�




  • Technical knowledge:



    Understanding of cable installation methods, trenching techniques, and restoration practices.�




  • Leadership abilities:



    Capability to lead and motivate a team of site workers, subcontractors, and effectively manage conflicts.�
