Site Manager / Project Engineer

�55-�60 P/H (Inside IR35) , Rolling 12 months

Our client, a prominent company specialising in advanced system integration with a focus on operational technology and digital transformation, is seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong Electrical Engineering background. They have a history of optimising efficiency and delivering high-performance solutions across various industrial sectors, including energy, water, renewables, and manufacturing.

Summary of Role:
Due to increasing demand, our client is seeking an additional experienced Site Manager to work between their Stone headquarters and client sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for all site-related aspects of delivering Nuclear projects safely, within budget, and to time and quality specifications. The role involves managing the installation and customer acceptance of Control System projects, leading a team of engineers during the site installation and commissioning phases, and controlling and managing installation sub-contractors.

Role Description:

  • Managing the installation and customer acceptance of Control System projects in the Nuclear Business in accordance with Nuclear licensed site safety standards and local site work practices
  • Leading and motivating a subset of the project team (typically 1 to 5+) during the site installation and commissioning phases
  • Controlling and managing installation sub-contractors (typically cable installation and minor electrical/mechanical works)
  • Holding regular report and progress meetings with clients, including production of related minutes
  • Liaising with the Health and Safety Manager regarding all aspects of welfare on site
  • Ensuring sufficient resources are planned for site work to enable delivery to cost, budget, and quality
  • Assisting with Electrical Installation/Test/Commissioning activities
  • Interpreting customer requirements, undertaking site surveys, and producing electrical drawings/installation specifications
  • Undertaking Risk Assessments and producing Method Statements, and creating/inputting into project safety health and environmental plans

Essential Requirements:

  • Successfully completed Client Contractors National Safety Group Safety Passport Supervisor training
  • Successfully completed specific health and safety awareness training delivered by recognized training providers (IOSH, CITB, RoSPA, BSC etc.), e.g., manual handling, lifting operations (banksman/slinger), working at height, CDM, confined spaces, etc.
  • First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Successfully completed CDM Training relevant to specific site responsibilities
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering Nuclear solutions on site with a track record of success - on time, to specification, and on budget within a commercial environment
  • Strong and practical safety ethos
  • Prepared to travel and work away at customer sites
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Requirements:

  • Educated to at least HND level or higher with additional relevant experience
  • IOSH SMSTS certificate
  • Successfully completed Construction Industry Training Board Construction Skills Site Managers Safety Training Scheme course (5 days) or equivalent
  • Commenced National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) National Construction
  • Able to fault find on electrical circuits
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Trained in Temporary Works Coordination / Supervision
  • Previous experience of working on Nuclear Licensed sites, especially if held previous Competent or Nominated supervisor roles
  • Suitable to gain Security Clearance
