Number 2 Site Manager – Residential Conversion Project (Town Centre Location)



Location: Brighton, West Sussex 

Duration: Freelance

Project Type: Large Residential Conversion (2 Commercial Units, Gym, and 80 Flats)



We are seeking an experienced Number 2 Site Manager to take responsibility for managing the internal packages of a large-scale residential conversion project. This development includes 2 commercial units, a gym, and 80 flats. The project is situated in a town centre location, so applicants must be able to navigate parking and delivery restrictions.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Oversee the management and coordination of internal packages, ensuring all works are completed on time and to a high standard.

  • Read and interpret drawings to ensure that the project is progressing as per the design.

  • Manage and coordinate trades and subcontractors on site, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and to specification.

  • Ensure health and safety procedures are strictly followed on site.

  • Communicate with the project team and report progress to the Site Manager.

  • Ensure site documentation is up to date, including risk assessments and method statements.

  • Address any issues or delays promptly and provide solutions to maintain project timelines.



Essential Qualifications & Experience:




  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).

  • First Aid certification.

  • CSCS Card (ideally White or Black Manager's Card).

  • Proven experience managing internal packages on large residential projects.

  • Strong ability to read and understand drawings.

  • Experience managing trades and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.

  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
