If you thrive in a fully remote, dynamic environment and have a knack for managing and automating ClickHouse databases, this could be your next exciting opportunity!About the Role:As a ClickHouse Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and reliability of ClickHouse databases. You'll be developing and implementing automation strategies for upgrades, maintaining multiple versions of ClickHouse across different environments, and optimizing database performance for scalability and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Automate ClickHouse Upgrades: Develop and implement automation strategies for fast and efficient upgrades.Version Management: Create tools for managing different ClickHouse versions in local and CI environments.Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues.Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with development teams and maintain comprehensive documentation.System Integration: Integrate ClickHouse functionalities into various systems and stay updated on improvements.Distributed Systems: Apply knowledge of distributed systems to enhance data infrastructure.On-call Participation: Be part of the on-call team to understand and resolve client issues.Technical Stack:Primary Technologies: ClickHouse, Python, C++, OpenResty, Varnish, Redis, Zookeeper.Monitoring and Provisioning Tools: Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Terraform, Ansible.What We’re Looking For:Database Automation Expert: Proficient in automating and managing ClickHouse databases.Distributed Systems Enthusiast: Experienced in designing and managing distributed cloud architectures.Programming Proficiency: Strong skills in Python and C++, with a willingness to explore codebases.DevOps Savvy: Hands-on experience with tools like Terraform and Ansible.Communicative and Collaborative: Excellent in team collaboration and documentation.Why Join?Competitive Compensation: Up to £75k based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.Stock Options: Potential for equity participation.Remote Work: Fully remote role with flexibility in working hours.Professional Growth: Impactful work in a startup environment with full transparency.Supportive Environment: Up to £2200 provided for home office setup.
