Due to continued business growth we have an opportunity for an experienced Site Services Manager to join our team.
At Houghton International no two days are the same. We operate across a range of sectors, from transport to power generation, working with some of the biggest names in industry and market-leading companies in fast-developing sectors such as renewables and manufacturing.
Duties and responsibilities:
As a Site Services Manager you will manage and oversee the direction of the site work ensuring that the customer specifications and requirements are met whilst reviewing progress and monitoring/managing costs.You will also be expected to bring in new business.
The role is very much a hands on role. It is therefore expected that your 90% of your time is allocated to a job and 10% of your time is allocated to meetings (internal and external), report writing and people management.This will include working on customer sites.
Furthermore, you will work with the Heads of Department and HR to build up a dedicated site team.
Additionally, you will:
Effectively generate gross profit through strategic planning and continuous improvement of daily site work and shop floor activity to optimise productivity and effectiveness.
You will be hands on, on a daily basis whether this be on site or the shop floor.
Attend daily morning meetings; ensuring updates are communicated.
Maintain and build new professional relationships with Customers/prospects from providing the quotation through to completion of the job.
Qualify customer requirements to provide accurate timely quotations including proposed timescale of completion, collection and delivery; agree reporting on work in progress.
Continuous improvement in the design, process and manufacture of new products and procedures to enhance company performance.
Accurately forecast and electronically record total cost of each job.
Plan, budget and manage availability of labour and parts to safely and cost effectively meet high standards of quality, and set deadlines.
Regularly liaise with the Customer and log progress of updating procedure during working progress.
Take responsibility for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
Ongoing communication with the Sales Team providing information to proactively fill gaps on site work and shop floor activity.
Ensure high standards of quality control are consistently met during and on completion of each job through implementing, monitoring and reviewing quality control procedures.
Work with Research and Development.
Work with HR on people management and engagement through performance reviews to determine and implement individual training requirements; establishing strong employee relationships, attending and taking an active role with Disciplinary and Grievance investigations / hearings; Recruitment and Selection.
