Slinger / Appointed Person

Our client, a leading entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a skilled Slinger / Appointed Person for a contract role at Portsmouth Docks. This opportunity involves working on an aircraft carrier and contributes to critical projects within the defence industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely coordinating and guiding crane operations to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Acting as the Appointed Person, overseeing lifting operations and ensuring all activities adhere to regulatory requirements
• Collaborating with diverse teams to ensure efficient and effective lifting procedures
• Conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments
• Documenting and reporting any incidents or near misses during operations
• Maintaining clear communication with all team members to coordinate activities

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Slinger/Signaller (Banksman) and Appointed Person
• Proficiency in Banksman/Slinger (CORE) and Appointed Person (CORE) activities
• Strong understanding of defence and security protocols
• Eligibility for SC (Security Check) clearance
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
