Experienced Veterinary Surgeon £40k-£60k DOE.  Bolsover/Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

You have been a vet for some years and are extremely good at your job, helping animals, trying to be the best you can be, and giving back to the industry you love.

But now you are looking for a change, maybe you are stuck in a rut, spending less time with patients, production line consults, and endless targets, let’s face it, it’s become what you didn’t originally sign up for.

We know being a Vet is sometimes tough, working long hours, with little breaks, but what if we knew of a modern independent practice with 15-minute consults as standard, no silly targets, where you can work with like-minded individuals, build lasting relationships with your clients, and give the best possible care you can? Would you be interested to learn more?

Luckily, we do and this one is hiring.

This trendy modern, purpose-built independent practice is based across two sites in Bolsover and Sheffield, established in 1992, it has successfully been caring for the animals of South Yorkshire, striving to provide the best possible veterinary care, taking pride in every aspect of their work. This shows in their loyal and ever-growing client base, highlighting the need for an additional Vet to join their successful team.

Ideally, you will have 2+ years of experience but there is some flexibility here.  A kind empathetic vet who is great with the client is just as important as experience.

This practice has a real team-focused environment. Their team is not only fun (check out their Tiktoks), but they are like family, not to mention super supportive, where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time.

You will be joining a strong team of 22 professionals, that wants the best for patients and practice.

Sharing advice, discussions on caseloads, a team that genuinely cares, supports, and is interested in each other. The practice has been owned and run by the same family since it opened, in 1992, carving and creating this wonderful place to work, and have built a lasting legacy and established client base to boot.

Without the shackles of a large vet group, decisions can be made quickly and ideas are encouraged from all.

They offer a 4-day week (provisionally Mondays off each week for a long weekend, if preferred) a protected 1-hour lunch with allocated breaks, 1 in 4 Saturdays, and no OOHs or on-call. Part-time applications would be considered also.

So, what's in it you?

£40k- £60k DOE, 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays. VDS, BVA, and RCVS fees paid for, pension, plus discounted vet bills. Free parking onsite, birthday off, annual salary reviews. They believe in developing their vets so a comprehensive CPD package should take care of that, £3000 per annum, pro rata.  With social events throughout the year, what’s not to like?

Location-wise, Bolsover is a town of heritage and has a beautiful castle with great shops and places to eat. They hold artisan and food fairs, Totley has fantastic walks and is close to the peak district, not to mention the city lights of Sheffield and all it has to offer from Shopping to Theatre, to the Snooker, hiking the peaks and more.

Read what a recent Locum Vet thinks of the practice…  “I’ve been absolutely blown away by the professionalism and caring nature of the clinic and every member within it. Even as a locum, I’ve been made to feel part of the team with the little things - making sure I get my breaks/have a drink and even a reusable cup to call my own (which can be refilled by the limitless supply of coffee from the machine in reception).

The team and highly skilled and ready to offer themselves up to ensure everything is completed to a high standard. The communication between the team is second to none and they cannot do enough for each other.

Many practices claim to be “a family”, but this place wrote the definition of this.

(If only I lived closer!)”

So, what’s next?

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.

Be a happier fulfilled vet at a practice that cares.
