Career Teachers is excited to announce a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a small group of Year 3 pupils at a welcoming primary school in Mapplewell, Barnsley.

As a small group Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to a small group of Year 3 boys with specific learning or developmental needs.
  • Assist the children in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual targets.
  • Implement strategies to support emotional and academic development.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing environment to promote confidence and independence.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent progress.
  • Support the pupil in PE activities, encouraging physical development and participation.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly on a 1:1 basis.
  • Patient, empathetic, and skilled at building rapport with children.
  • Confident in implementing personalised learning plans.
  • Qualified with a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification (desirable but not essential).
  • Passionate about physical education and promoting an active lifestyle.
  • A team player who is adaptable and proactive in their approach.

Note: This role requires a male candidate due to the need for a male role model to support the pupil's development and well-being, in line with the school's policy on providing gender-specific role models.
