About the role:

This role will be responsible for managing sub-projects that occur outside of normal Project Management day to day works.

Responsibilities As projects/contracts are increasingly more complex, there are consistently a number of small sub-projects that fall outside normal Project Management / Project Engineering/Management day-to-day works. These works are by their very nature reactive rather than planned and need instant time and focus as they carry financial/reputational risk particularly when related to asset downtime. An example of such work would be revisiting site for latent defect works within a defects liability period.
Manage and ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are always understood and adhered to.
Manage the assigned small works packages, conforming to scope, budget, time and quality requirements.
Act as the clients primary focus on a day-to-day basis, acting in a professional and courteous manner, and reporting any relevant interactions internally.
Raise Purchase Orders on subcontract packages and consumables.
Ensure timely request, review and submission of RAMS.
Create lookahead programmes and drive the works to timely completion.
Create and manage trackers, noting the progress of works and assigning and chasing actions.
Manage subcontractors and their works, challenging any cost, scope, progress, safety or quality issues, and reorganising works where appropriate.
Take charge of project logistics ahead of time, co-ordinating deliveries and plant movement, taking into account site conditions and offload requirements to ensure that goods and materials are installed safely and on programme.
Write detailed reports and updates for the Project Engineering Manager and other project departmental heads.
Collate and submit accurate project documentation, including but not limited to As-Built drawings, calibration and test certificates, and commissioning records.
Suggest and implement cost-effective solutions and proposals, acting as the focal point for unexpected technical difficulties and other problems, ensuring that they are resolved in a timely manner.
Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders either in person or on-line. Where appropriate, schedule and act as chair, taking minutes and assigning actions.
