Fostering and Kinship Social Worker

Location: Worcestershire Council
Rate: £33.30 per hour
Contract: Temporary

About the Role

Worcestershire Council is seeking an Experienced Fostering and Kinship Social Worker to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing support and supervision to mainstream and kinship fostering households, alongside conducting comprehensive assessments to meet court deadlines.

Your expertise will help ensure that children and young people are placed in safe and nurturing environments that meet their needs and support their development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and supervision to mainstream and kinship fostering households.
  • Complete assessments of kinship households within required court deadlines.
  • Undertake initial viability assessments of potential fostering households.
  • Collaborate with families, professionals, and external agencies to ensure high-quality outcomes for children.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with statutory requirements and best practices.

Requirements

  • Qualified and registered Social Worker with experience in fostering and kinship work.
  • Strong assessment and report-writing skills, particularly within tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance related to fostering and kinship care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with families and professionals.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload effectively while maintaining high standards of practice.
